Starting a website project
Useful first questions when you are planning a new website or improving an existing one.
How do I know whether I need a new website, a redesign or SEO?
A new website is usually right when the current site cannot clearly present the business or support the required functionality. A redesign suits a site with useful foundations but weak structure, content or mobile experience. SEO is often the first step when the website is already usable but important pages are not being found. A short review of the site, goals and existing visibility helps identify the sensible starting point.
Compare the servicesHow much does a website cost in Ireland?
The price depends on page count, content preparation, design depth, SEO work, forms and any custom functionality. The pricing page shows current starting points, but a useful quote needs the actual project scope.
View starting pricesWhat pages does a small business website normally need?
Most service businesses need a homepage, focused service pages, an about page, a contact or quote page, trust content, FAQs and legal pages. The exact sitemap should follow your services and the questions customers ask.
How long does a website project take?
A smaller website can often be completed in a few weeks. Larger redesigns, ecommerce projects and SEO-heavy websites take longer because content, feedback, integrations and testing require more work.
What do you need from me before starting?
Useful starting information includes your current website, services, target areas, logo and images, competitor examples, content you already have, project goals and any important deadline.
Do you provide website content?
I can help plan and write practical page copy, especially service sections, FAQs, calls to action and local SEO content. Specialist or regulated information still needs your review and approval.

Website, WordPress and ownership
Questions about the platform, practical management and what remains under your control.
Can you redesign my existing WordPress website?
Yes. An existing site can be rebuilt with clearer navigation, stronger service pages, better mobile layout, updated proof and a more useful enquiry journey.
Learn about website redesignDo you only work with WordPress?
WordPress is my main platform because it is flexible and practical for service websites, content sites and custom functionality. I can also advise on migrations and whether WordPress is the right fit.
Will the website work properly on mobile phones?
Yes. Responsive behaviour, readable text, button sizes, forms and section spacing are checked across desktop, tablet and mobile layouts.
Can I update the website myself after launch?
Yes. Normal pages, images, posts and business details remain manageable in WordPress. The setup should be practical for ongoing use rather than dependent on a developer for every small change.
Who owns the website, domain, hosting and accounts?
Ownership, licences, administrator access and renewal responsibilities should be stated clearly in the proposal. Your domain and key business accounts should remain under your control. Hosting, paid software and third-party subscriptions are identified separately when they are not included in the agreed scope.
Are hosting and domain costs included?
Hosting and domain costs should be shown separately from design work unless a proposal specifically includes them. This keeps renewals and ownership clear.
Do you offer support for websites you did not build?
In many cases, yes. I first review the website, hosting, plugins and issue so I can confirm whether the work is practical and safe to take on.

SEO, local visibility and performance
High-level answers before you choose a focused SEO, local visibility or speed service.
Is SEO included with website design?
Basic SEO foundations can be planned during the build, including page structure, headings, metadata, internal links and crawlable content. A deeper SEO campaign requires additional research, content and ongoing work.
Explore SEO servicesWhat is an SEO audit and when is it useful?
An SEO audit is a structured review of how search engines discover, crawl, index and understand important pages. It is especially useful before a redesign or migration, after an unexplained search decline, when indexing reports change or before a major content expansion.
Read about SEO auditsCan you guarantee first-page rankings?
No responsible SEO provider can guarantee a ranking position. Search performance depends on competition, website quality, authority, content, technical health and changes in search results.
What is local SEO?
Local SEO helps a business appear for searches connected to a town, city or service area. It includes useful service and location pages, consistent business details, reviews, local relevance and Google Business Profile support.
Learn about local SEOIs a Google Business Profile free?
Creating and managing an eligible Google Business Profile is free. Optimising the profile properly still takes accurate business information, suitable categories, service details, photos, review processes and a website that genuinely supports what the business offers.
Explore Google Business Profile supportHow soon can SEO improvements show results?
Some technical and on-page improvements can be noticed quickly, but meaningful organic growth often takes months. Timing varies by competition, existing authority, content quality and consistency.
Do website speed and mobile usability affect SEO?
They affect user experience and can support search performance. Speed alone does not replace useful content, relevance and authority, but a slow or difficult site can reduce engagement and enquiries.
What are Core Web Vitals?
Core Web Vitals are Google metrics related to loading performance, responsiveness and visual stability. They are useful diagnostic signals, but a good website also needs useful content, clear navigation and reliable enquiry paths.

What happens after the website launches?
After launch, key links, forms, mobile behaviour and SEO settings are checked. Ongoing maintenance, content updates and improvements can be handled separately when needed.
Do you provide WordPress maintenance?
Yes. Maintenance can include core, theme and plugin updates, backups, small content changes, troubleshooting and periodic performance checks.
Learn about website maintenanceCan you speed up an existing WordPress website?

Can you migrate my website to another host or domain?
Yes. A safe migration includes backups, files and database transfer, domain or DNS changes, email considerations, SSL, redirects and post-migration testing.
Learn about website migrationDo you build ecommerce websites?
